Other suggestions: I would use a good jazz mouthpiece for jazz auditions.  This includes (for alto) a Meyer 5* hard rubber, Morgan Excaliber, Otto Link hard rubber, etc...  In regards to reeds, I would try Vandoren JAVA or ZZ: strength 2 1/2, 3 or 3 1/2 or D'addario Select Jazz 2.5, 3 or 3.5. Everyone's preferences are a little different. See what reed works best for you several months in advance and have a number of good reeds ready for your audition day.  Again, if you have questions, send me an e-mail.
