Other suggestions: I would use a good classical mouthpiece for Band auditions.  This includes (for alto) a Selmer S-80, Yamaha 4C or Vandoren AL-3.  In regards to reeds, I would try Vandoren Traditional: strength 2 1/2, 3 or 3 1/2 or D'addario Reserve 2.5, 3 or 3.5.  See what reed works best for you several months in advance and have a number of good reeds ready for your audition day.  Again, if you have questions, send me an e-mail.
